The New Fitness
Have you ever heard someone say that something is the new something else? Orange is the new black. Fifty is the new forty. How about, sitting is the new smoking? A sedentary lifestyle is exceedingly bad for the human body. Our bodies need to move, regularly, challenging the muscles in a variety of different ways. Our bodies also need to be fed well. We should clean healthy foods to meet our body's energy and composition needs. The New Fitness is a reflection of a person's movement and nutrition habits, or lifestyle. How fit is your lifestyle?
When smart workouts and clean healthy food come together regularly, something special happens. I know this because it changed my life, and health. It didn't happen overnight, but with consistent, regular exercise and intentional food choices my body started to change. This healthy lifestyle approach to fitness is pretty simple: challenge your muscles in a variety of different ways and eat a diet of clean, healthy, unprocessed foods.

When it gets tough, our goals help keep us going. When we get distracted, our goals keep us focused. But why should we keep going and stay focused? Because a fit, healthy body doesn't just happen, it takes intentional choices over time. Choose your direction and enjoy the journey!
It's easy to be overwhelmed when thinking about what to eat. Health vs. Taste? Slow vs. Fast? Carb vs. Protein? Organic vs. Traditional? Brown rice vs. White rice? Healthy nutrition means different things to different people. It is clear, however that different foods have different roles inside the body. Carbohydrates = Energy | Protein = Healing So how can you know if you get enough of everything? Let's start with a consistent balance of different whole foods and let our bodies use what they need.
